When looking for a wedding venue where we could stay and host the entire weekend, we knew we were in good hands with Lake Hume Resort and The Boat Shed.

From the moment we were given the tour, we felt at ease knowing all staff were willing to go above and beyond to make our weekend one to remember.

They helped with everything from the planning of the weekend, to the food tasting in order to select the perfect menu. All of our guests were able to stay in either cottages or motels right next to The Boat Shed where we hosted both our Rehearsal Dinner and Reception. As the gardens were so beautifully kept, we decided to have our Ceremony at the Gazebo out the front.

The venue organised the chairs and helped set up, and the day was exactly how we had imagined. We had cocktail hour and canapes for guests after the ceremony which our guests absolutely loved! The food at the Reception was remarkable and more than anything, all of our guests commended how amazing the staff were. Everyone was so friendly and excited for us.

We had the most beautiful wedding weekend, it was everything we’d hoped for. Thank you so much to all the staff involved in making our dream come to life! We highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect venue for their special day!

We celebrated the most amazing week-end of our lives, along with 60 of our family & friends in March this year, the week-end before lockdown, at Lake Hume Resort.
Ourselves & many of our travelled guests stayed in the wonderful accommodation at the resort.

Prior to our Sunday morning Wedding Ceremony, we all enjoyed a “Meet & Greet” at “The Firepit” on the Saturday night. There was an abundance of food, BBQed to perfection, along with sweets, cakes, etc., under the watchful eye of Alexi, the friendliest host you could ever meet, who held an excellent rapport with all our guests, children included, throughout the duration of a fun & fantastic night.

The Wedding Ceremony was conducted by our chosen Celebrant, Angela Bishop from “Magical Ceremonies”, at The Rotunda at 9.30am the following morning, red carpet & all! “Our reception “Brunch” followed in The Boatshed Restaurant, styled to perfection, as per our wishes discussed with the fabulous Event Coordinator Extraordinaire, Stacey James & her amazing band of workers.

Guests were initially greeted with delicious Hors D’oeuvres whilst waiting on our arrival, then sat down to share platters of assorted croissants, pastries, quiches & fresh fruit, followed by orders from their breakfast menu, finishing with platters of cheese, (from our alternative styled cheese tower wedding cake, supplied by Milawa Cheese), dried & fresh fruits, olives & house made dips, pickled vegetables, crackers & breads.

In addition to all of the above, our twelve grandchildren, (our wedding party), were welcomed and certainly well catered for throughout both occasions, including a close by but separate activities area, which left parents to enjoy the wedding brunch knowing the children were being well supervised.

Chef worked with us in providing his ideas, incorporated with ours, & provided the amazing abundance of food of an impeccable standard of five-star presentation.

Stacey’s input every step of the way from our initial meeting through to our checkout on Monday morning was superior in all areas of the whole week-end.

Our many & varied guests are still talking about the sensational week-end they all had, along with the scrumptious food, (on both the occasions), ceremony, accommodation & the friendly staff.

Finally, it was wonderful for us to showcase The Lake Hume Resort & our amazing Riverina & North East region to our guests, particularly our interstate ones, who have assured us they will return.
